We provided 70mm thick Kalwall translucent sandwich panels which completed the gym
Merivale High School is a secondary school, located in Ottawa, Ontario. In addition to its gifted student program, Merivale High is recognized for it’s excelling French immersion programs, visual art and music, and co-operative education programs.
We were selected to work inside the Merivale High School Gym to enhance and bring in more natural daylight to their educational environment. Translucent wall systems offer a friendly, elegant side lighting solution that transform sunlight into glare-free daylight to enhance any space. We provided 70mm thick Kalwall translucent sandwich panels which completed the gym. Finishing the project our technicians were able to blend the Kalwall panelling into the framework perfectly with both interior and exterior aluminium coloured caulking.
Working alongside Frecon General Contractors we were able to get the project completed efficiently and to an excellent standard.
The primary element of the Kalwall system is a flat or curved structural composite sandwich panel formed by permanently bonding specially formulated, fibreglass-reinforced translucent faxes to a grid core constructed of interlocked, structural aluminium/composite, thermally broken I-beams.
The natural thermal properties of the sandwich panel can deliver increased energy performance by the inclusion of translucent fiberglass “batts” or aerogel during the manufacturing process and by specifying a fully thermally broken grid core.
Kalwall panels are installed with the efficient, prove Clamp-tite™ aluminium system.
